XTRATUF Men's 6 Ankle Deck Boot

The Ankle Deck Boot collection has been crafted specifically for off-shore anglers. Anglers are athletes, and like any athlete they demand the best footwear to help them perform at a high level. Xtratuf has created a lightweight design with the same slip-resistant Chevron outsole found on our Legacy boots. The 6" ankle deck boot is a great option for any on-the-water athlete looking for protection with slip-on-and-go styling. This boot is constructed with hand-layed rubber, and so not classified as a commercial grade boot. I've had these for a few months now. Initial impressions is they're wonderfully made. Try on - Horrible fit, they run very small and narrow. I'm a 14 and would've needed like a 16. They would've been awesome if I could have ordered up! Traction - bought these to use around the house and in the garage. These boots terrify me when they're wet. I literally strained my knee cause of the lack of traction. Lastly, they're already leaking when I step in a inch of water - could just be my set or maybe they're not waterproof? These are great boots if they work for you, but just want people to know what these are like on the day to day. I also bought through a third party, but they were new.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Wide size is still too narrow

Being that these are literally the ONLY rubber boots on the market that come in a wide size, these are really my only option. Even still, my toes are still pushed up against the side of the toe box. I really wish xtratuf had more wide options, and some that are actually wide. I definitely would have preferred a taller pair but my feet would never settle for narrow boots. It's really surprising there isn't more wide sizes anywhere, especially for how essential waterproof boots are in wet climates and in commercial fishing. I am positive there are more people than just me in need of wide rubber boots

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great for specific purposes

Ok so I'm just going to start off by saying the boot is comfortable yes but slip resistant absolutely not. I work aboard tugboats on steel decks and I bought these boots for that reason. First time wearing them it felt like I was walking on ice in the middle of the summer with any kind of water on a steel deck. I'd rather wear my workboots and deal with them being wet than sliding all over the place. The boots however look nice and are comfortable and will be staying on my personal boat and for recreational use instead of commercial purposes. My shark bite deck shoes are sadly the same way.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hello DJ and thank you for providing us your review. We are sorry to hear that these boots did not work well on your tugboat. Our intent is to be able to have people wear these during any situation on the water. We will provide this information to our product team so that we may improve on our product.

Not that "tuff" or durable.

I've had these for two years, wearing them primarily in the rain in the winter months in Vancouver, Canada. Both boots are cracking and no longer waterproof on the top inner portion of the boot. If you look at the pics you will see from the condition of the sole, which is still in decent functional condition, that the boots have had moderate use. I expected more based on the reputation of this company and their boots. Otherwise they have been great boots - comfortable once I added an additional insole (for my low volume feet), grippy, waterproof, easy on/off, and reflective.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Excellent Customer Service, Poor Quality

This is a difficult review to give at this time. Customer Service was 5 Star. Bought boots for my husband as a Xmas gift. After two wearings he noticed the soles and edging were separating. Called Customer Service and was told to send them back and they would either refund money or send a replacement pair. I opted for a replacement. Return was simple and a new pair arrived in a timely manner. We were gone for a month and he has only worn them a couple of times. They seem fine. Hopefully we just got a bad pair the first time and these will hold up to wet weather wear.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Tight on the top bone of my foot

I like the shoes a lot. They fit perfectly length wise, which, for me means a little snug. However the top bone of my foot is rubs up against the top part of the part and at times can be uncomfortable even for short periods of time. This is wearing normal socks and I don't anticipate being able to wear thick socks with these. I could have potentially exchanged for the next size up but I'm guessing that at that point the cons would out weigh the pros where they would feel loose and longer length-wise and would feel the need to wear thicker socks more so I'm opting to be a little more uncomfortable. We'll see over time if that's a good decision or not. As far as rain boots go, the traction, the loo, being able to wear them with most clothes - i like them a lot.

Awesome

I am a member of a search and rescue team, and beginning a while ago people were buying these boots as an alternative to the boots we are issued (which are by no means bad, they just wear down after a while). So I thought hell, why not. Honestly I love 'em. They're super easy to slip on and book it to cases, they don't come loose in water, and they don't look half bad wither. The reinforcement of the heel is super important to me because of the way I take off shoes. Otherwise, I would buy more. Maybe one pair at a time.

I love these boots! I've

I love these boots! I've used them at the muddy local steeplechase horse race, on the property clearing brush/debris and for just slipping on(very easy) and walking the dogs or doing yard work. Love, love, love em! Great durable alternative to my slip on vans. Kinda warm, slightly narrow(not a deal breaker) and they're super comfy and I think they look cool(I got the black and white). The non slip works great on most surfaces(wet logs, wet tile, wet Porsche pedals:+1:) Definitely would purchase and will again!
