So great, I forgot I was fishing in them!

Outstanding boots for sure! I purchased for a planned fishing trip in Hydrographic Canyons in the Atlantic Ocean. They came a bit early so I went fishing in them in Minnesota, where we fish mostly. I have to say, I was very impressed with the boots and they were very confortable. While fishing in the Atlantic, these boots made me feel very sure footed and they were very confortable, if fact I did not think about them while fishing over 4 days. That may sound funny, but it is a testament to how confortable they were to were. I am very appreciative and suggested my two sons purchase them as well. Thank you for the opportunity to share my thoughts with you on these.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Switched to Grundens

These boots cracked after a couple of months of regular use. Three of my buddies have the same boots and we all have holes in the same place. I wore them for more than a year with holes but I ended up switching to Grundens this season. If you are looking for deck boots and are comparing the two brands I recommend the Grundens or at least staying away from this particular extra tuff product. The Grundens are softer rubber with a square toe, whereas these extra tuffs are a harder rubber with a narrow toe box. The Grundens also have more cushion and wear more like a moccasin whereas these wear stiffer like a clog. We'll see how long the Grundens last but they can't be any worse than these.

Lasted about a year

Like many of the other negative reviews, my 6in Ankle Deck Boots split where the boots flex, near the big toe. I had these about a year and then they started splitting. I live in MT and wear these quite a bit in the winter when the snow is shallow, on icy days, and rainy days. I also wear these in the spring and fall in our backyard "urban farm." These get a lot of use and moderate abuse. Regardless, I expected to have these more than a year. I have the 15in Legacy Boot and the rubber has held up for 7 years, so I'm not sure why the material on the 6in fails so quickly.

Comfortable but surprisingly bad quality

Very comfortable but essentially non functional if you’re even remotely active in them. I got these boots late last year and they failed after less than three months of use. Both boots split. My wife already had two pairs and bought a third. All of them have now split. 9 months is the longest we got out of any pair of this style of Xtratuf boots. It’s really disappointing given the price. I don’t like leaving negative reviews but for this price it’s a crazy bad deal. Even my academy brand cheapo boots last two years of having everything under the sun thrown at them. I should have contacted xtratuf sooner but once the toes were split I just put the boots in the closet and didn’t get around to contacting the company.

Not the Same Boot as in years past

My son loves these boots, he wore his old pair for years. Bought him a new pair for Christmas and the boot design is narrow and smaller now. Not sure what has changed with the boot design, but comfort, durability and width of toe bed has drastically changed. He has been trying to "break" them in for a month now and he has finally decided to try a different brand. So sad because these were his go to favorite boots that could withstand all the wear and tear. To pay this much money for shoes and not have the same wear is terribly disappointing.

Perfect for some occasions.

They slip on & off easily and keep your feet dry - perfect for light duty chores and wandering around in wet grass. But... because they're short and have a "big mouth" design, they're gonna take on water if it's actually raining (your rain pants will inevitably ride up over the top of the boots) or if water is splashing around. Also, I've noticed that gravel and other debris easily finds its way into these boots. All that said, they're perfect for checking out the garden when it's wet or muddy or as camp shoes when full on boots aren't necessary.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Topside rubber split and boots leak

I absolutely loved them for getting through Seattle winters. The soles are still like new. The top sides however are a different story. The rubber or neoprene (whatever it is) has split on both boots just above the sole - topside joint and the splits have grown. Sadly, they now leak. I’ve tried to mend them with Shoe Goop but it doesn’t cling that well to the topside material. I don’t have large or wide feet or bunions that would cause excessive strain where the splits occur. I can’t recommend them.

Very Versatile Footwear

I bought these for working around the yard while cutting trees and landscaping. A very easy boot to slip on and off. The fit is pretty good but I notice a bit of tightness at the toe box which may ease up after more wear. This is not a deterrent to me wearing them as it's not a huge problem after an hour or so. The boots themselves are very versatile and can be worn for work or driving to the shops. They're a great overall boot. I'll be looking at Mucks when the colder weather comes around.
