Skechers Men's Vigor 2.0 Sneaker - Extra Wide Width

I needed hiker-style shoes with a rugged sole, resilient fabric and heavily cushioned footbed for the many hours per day I spend walking a dog. I tried all of the Skechers options in the woman's section of the store but was very disappointed. I mentally whined about it being so difficult to find footwear for women that doesn't sell out to the "must be pretty rather than functional" camp. My pity party led me to the men's section where I found shoes that are far more cushioned and supportive, with plenty of room in the toe box. The laces need to be quite tight to control heel slippage and there are no points for pretty but they suit my needs.

When I received the shoes I found that I was sent the "Wide" width instead of the X-Wide I ordered .. I tried the shoes on anyway and found they fit quite well, and didn't need the X-Wide size in this shoe ... (I have another pair of Skechers in X-Wide, which is more a casual shoe and not a sneaker) so it may depend on the type of shoe as to the size needed ... I've only had these sneakers for a couple weeks and have worn them a few times and I must say they are very comfortable ... I use to buy other brand name sneakers such as NB and Nike, but I think Skechers may be my new go to ... Their longevity may be the determining factor ...

Comfortable with good arch support. Keeps you warm in subzero temperatures.

I was shopping with my father and he was looking for a pair of Skechers because he had heard good things about the brand. My father has a wide, but short foot, so finding shoes are always very difficult for him. We were shopping the Newport News, VA store and happen upon these shoes. They were the color he was looking for and they had his size and width as well. He purchased the shoes and absolutely loves them. He says they are very comfortable, well made, stylish and reasonably priced. He was also impressed that he was able to find his size and width.

I walk between six and eight miles on an average day. This sneaker fits me very well and is exceedingly comfortable in fit as well as feel. Walking as much as I do, which can be as much as twelve miles in a day, I have noticed two things about the performance of the sneaker itself as far as traction is concerned. When walking on pavement or a smooth floor the sneaker provides a non-slip footing. When walking in dirt or gravel the sneakers provide you with the same non-slip traction and a solid footing, especially when hiking on uneven dirt trails. Wearing out as many pairs of walking sneakers as I do, I'm planning on purchasing another pair immediately. If there is an award for sneakers, this pair should get one. I would rank these sneakers among the best that I have ever purchased.

I've read other reviews here describing the same thing. Seems to be company policy to ship regular wide in place of extra wide when the extra wide is unavailable. Very easy to see the difference in the description on the boxes. I doubt it's an honest mistake. Needless to say the regular wide is too tight on my feet. Had to take to store to return. The sales associate's reaction when I politely told her why I was returning them: a very casual "huh".

I purchased these shoes a couple of months ago for my job in retail. I'm a woman and the men's 10.5 wide was perfect for me. I've worn Sketchers for years because of the wide widths and blunt, wide toe box. They are much more cushioned than my Keens. I'm interested to see how long they actually last (my previous sketchers lasted several years) esp in regards to the cushioned insole. I am probably going to buy a second pair for casual wear.

My podiatrist recommended Asics since I needed a good shoe for walking. Unfortunately, I have a wide foot and no Asics in the store fit my feet. I also tried Nike, and everything else in the store until I came upon these Sketchers. They fit perfect with the orthotics I had to install. The memory foam innersole cushions so well, its a pleasure to walk in them. I have used them now for two weeks solid and they are KEEPERS.
