Brooks Women's Ghost Max 3 Sneaker

I have bad feet. Every metatarsal in both feet have been broken. My arches have dropped. And, let's not leave out the fallen arches or foot pain. I tried these on without much hope honestly. I thought they wouldn't be wide enough. Or, they would make my feet hurt. I was wrong. It felt like I was walking on a cloud! I bought them right then and there! My only complaint? That I didn't buy them sooner! I love them! Even after a few days, my feet felt great in them! I plan on buying another pair! I have arthritis in my knees and wearing these don't make my knees hurt! They have such great support! I understand why these are so popular!

We just took an epic trip, celebrating being together as a family after my husband and son both beat cancer. We spent 15 days adventuring - averaging about 9 miles a day - and my feet feel great! I rotated these Ghost Max 3s (whose color perfectly match my Oswald loungefly!) with my trusty Ghost Max 2s and had zero issues. As a mom who really needed this trip to remind me of the important benefits of daily movement, I will share that 9 miles a day is *much* more than my typical activity level and I am pleasantly surprised to be on our way home and ready to put in some steps when we arrive!

I almost never write reviews, but felt compelled to do so due to how much I dislike this shoe. I’ve worn ghosts for the past 10 years and this is by far the worst. It is nothing like the previous. For one thing they are way too high. I feel like I’m almost rolling my ankle just walking around in them. Another thing is you absolutely cannot slip them on due to the material and how the tongue lays which as my daily shoe I like to be able to slip my foot into without untying. The light color is getting dirty really quickly and I don’t even wear them outdoors mostly. They just don’t feel like the old ghosts and are not comfortable.

The Ghost Max 3 could have been THE perfect sneaker for me if it weren't for the rubbing on the outside of my right ankle, near the tongue. This sneaker checked ALL the boxes I needed.... GREAT toe box roominess, perfect arch support (not too extreme), cushioned sole that isn't too squishy. It literally solved every foot problem I have BUT it dug under the bone of the outside of my right ankle with every stride. I am not a fan of the tongue shape either. It is too narrow and not long enough; taking away from extra padding in that area. Oh well, back to the drawing board. Such a shame because I truly loved how this sneaker fit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't had these long, but they have been the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn! My ONLY suggestion would be to have a full leather option for a bit of waterproofing. I walk and run when it is wet outside and the mesh is good for breathability, but the wetness when it's wet out is uncomfortable. I'm also a nurse and would love to have fun colors in a more water resistant type shoe. Shoes that are more water resistant (also easier wiped down from possible bodily fluids and germs) that are not mesh are always either plain white or black. But, for a dry weather shoe, it is amazing! You won't regret it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After a troubling bout of plantar fasciitis and months of rehab, I knew I needed different shoes for walking. After much research and a failed Altra Torin purchase (way too hard of a sole), I tried these. And they are perfect! They fit and felt beautiful from the second I put them on. No rub spots, no heel slip, no break in period, and plenty of room in the toe box. They are like clouds! Because so, they don't have great ground feel, but for me, it doesn't matter. I can walk without pain once again. I plan to order at least one more pair for summer. Thank you Brooks! My first, and not my last, pair of Brooks.

I loved the Ghost Max and Ghost Max 2. The Ghost Max 3 has a plastic piece on the outside just under the heel collar. For some reason, this makes it stiffer than previous versions, and the heel collar digs into the outside of my ankle. I'm hoping the Ghost Max 4 will be like previous versions, with an all-fabric outside and around the heel collar. I've been running in the Ghost Max ever since it was introduced. I'm not sure I can go back to the Ghost since I'm now accustomed to the cushion/stability of the Ghost Max. I've purchased the last Ghost Max 2 in my size that I can find online ... getting nervous about what to use as a replacement when I need shoes in a few weeks. :(

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] DISAPPOINTED! The changes made to the Ghost Max 3 ruined them for me. I have 1 pair of Max 1, 2 pair Max 2, loved the appearance of the Max 3 so excited to get them. As soon as I put them on I knew something was different because my feet were not happy. After researching learned of changes made, which were all wrong for my feet. Have tried wearing them, however at end of the day my feet hurt!! I am a therapist on my feet all day as well as walking 3-4 miles at work, definitely need my feet to be happy. I am returning my Ghost Max 3. Would not recommend these if you were happy with the Max 1 & 2.
