Brooks Women's Ghost 18 Running Shoe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was hoping after reading some early reviews that the new Ghosts has returned to the fit they used to have years ago. Unfortunately, for my wide feet, they still don't work as well as they used to. I ordered an extra wide and sized up a half size and while the toe box is plenty roomy, the outside of the shoe still rubs my foot. Now I have awful feet (flat and multiple bunions), so I wouldn't be turned off by this review if your feet are not Hobbit feet, but for those with similar issures, they might not be the best choice. Also, Brooks, please make wide and extra wide shoes in more colors! The Frodos of the running world need a little variety!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually buy size 9 wide in these shoes as I’ve been wearing them since Ghost 9. They seemed much longer than usual, a good 1+ inches from my longest toe, so I returned and got the 8 1/2 wide. Like others have been saying, the wide is more narrow than usual, not so much in the toe box but the narrowest part in the middle of the shoe on the outside. Plus they are more rigid than usual in that area. I had to read the description again to make sure there weren’t the dreaded guiderails there. Thankfully, no, but just a quirk in this rendition of the shoe. I’m still considering a return with the intent of waiting for the Ghost 19.

They are so comfortable and have so much padded space that really make it feel like I'm running and hiking on a cloud. They are just about the most comfortable sneaker that I've ever worn. I'm impressed. Not only are the super comfy, they are also absolutely beautiful! This is one of my favorite colors, and you hardly ever can find a shoe in this color. The very first time that I wore them I got tons of compliments. Finally, they also make me feel great! They make me taller, for one thing! Also, the shape of the shoe is just really stylish and makes me feel good about wearing them. They were an awesome choice!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the better cushioning in the forefoot and I'm glad the tongue is longer. The heel locks in and the overall fit is great. However, the tongue is not very cushioned. I also noticed that the side of the shoe around the ankle is no longer cushioned. It doesn't bother me when I run, but somehow this shoe isn't as comfortable out of the box as ones in the past. I also wish that instead of a 10 mm midsole drop that it was 6 or 8. I feel like the heel is too high and I notice that when wearing this shoe my knee hurts compared to other shoes of different brands with a lower drop. Now my favorite shoe is the Ghost Trail.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Brooks never disappoint! Even after being on my feet all day, they were so incredibly comfortable. The flat-knit tongue felt like a pair of socks and was so breathable that my feet did not get hot. The sneakers felt so supportive, like a brand new pair of socks. The cushioning of the sneaker was soft and my feet felt great, even after a very long road run. My favorite thing about this sneaker is that it’s not only stylish, but it feels like you’re not wearing anything. This newly designed tongue of the sneaker is absolutely fantastic! It does not dig into the top of my foot. Overall, Brooks have always been my go to brand and this sneaker definitely does not disappoint!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been wearing ghosts for almost 10 years now and feel like this style changes a lot between each version. I was wearing the 16s before these and i think the 18s are ugly compared to those. the tongue is some type of elastic material and rubs on your ankles if you're not wearing high enough socks and the lip on the back of the shoe is higher than most sneakers and sometimes rubs on the ankles too. they are pretty comfortable on the inside which is a plus! the laces are a bit long so i tuck them in the top of the shoe so they don't tickle my ankles when I'm at the gym or walking around in them. overall, I'm going to keep them since my 16s were dead but i don't love the 18s.

Brooks running shoes (especially the Ghost series) have been my go to for years! However, it all started to go downhill with Ghost 16, although still tolerable. When Brooks introduced Ghost 17 with an increased shoe length, they no longer fit and were unusable. I figured I'd try again with Ghost 18, which I think may be even longer in length. Now I'm finding that all Brooks shoes are too long to fit my size 5 feet. At some point, a size 5 stopped being a size 5, and I wish shoe makers would just come clean about it. Unfortunately this will be my last attempt at buying Brooks. Thanks for several good years!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a brooks user since Ghost 11, I HATE GhOst 17 for narrow fit , high stack and instability , along going higher than my normal shoe size, giving me sooo many issues only to returned them all! Waited for ghost 18 for 6 months and only to be more upset with brooks than ever! This was the worst shoe ever , very rough material in the front and narrow toe box again which is horrible for wide feet and even the wide was painful which I used for one week and returned for good! I officially resigned being A Ghost fan. Luckily I kept my 15 and 14 which are tons times better than all the new editions! Brooks , I am extremely disappointed and won’t return until u bring ghost 15 back!!!!
