Great fit

I bought the same hiking shoes I purchased to go to Ireland last summer. I love that they are not tight on my toes and are very comfortable all year long. They fit just right for a size 6. A great hiker for lots of walking! Very satisfied with them!

Ugly and missing padding /arch support

I was going to keep these....but I can't. Despite the reviews, I found them very uncomfortable. They dig into my ankles and have minimal padding or support, arch support on the sole. Meanwhile, too much padding on the tongue and upper portion is too much. It's a pretty strange shoe in its proportions, not to mention an ugly shoe.

Great for orthotics

I really like my Merrel hiking shoes. It's great that the shoebed can be removed & my orthotic inserted . The only improvement I can suggest is with the laces. The laces provided become untied very easily & have to be retidefrequently .
