Excellent boots, warm, light and comfortable.
Great boots. As someone with wide feet and a high instep it's always difficult to find boots that fit well. These are great and very comfortable.

Beware the fit
I had to return these boots. Even though I have several pair of Merrill outdoor footwear, these seem much narrower than the others.

Super Comfortable For My Fat Feet
I have super high volume feet. I was worried these wouldn't be wide enough because the toe box tapers like traditional boot and isn't natural-shaped (like Keens or Altras), but by sizing up a 1/2 size, there is plenty of room in the forefoot. Additionally, they have height across the instep. Overall, a great boot if you have Fred Flintstone feet like me.

Comfortable and practical
These boots replace a similar pair purchased 16 years ago. From first wearing they were comfortable and provided great warmth in spite of -14 weather

winter work boot
A decent winter boot, it is warm, and good looking, a little stiff, it needed some kind of extra insole for comfort, the wide width is perfect for me, it feels like a winter work boot.

Good for hiking , not warming.
These boots were comfortable and no break in period was needed. They did not do well with keeping my feet warm.

Not waterproof
Feet got wet first time I used them, in about an inch or so of snow. Feet did stay warm and faily comfortable for a break in hike

Great boot for wet or cold hiking AND work !
This is a great boot to work in ( I am on concrete ten hours a day) and to hike with the dogs in the woods for a few hours cold and wet are no problem Super comfortable out of the box as well!!

Why Did I Wait So Long To Own A Pair of Merrells?
I am so pleased with the purchase of my new Thermo Akita Mid Waterproof boots. They are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn, while keeping my feet dry and toasty in our early winter snowy and sub-freezing weather. Tell me why I waited so long to own a pair of Merrells?!

Merrell value
After limited use, I find the boot warm with good traction. The collar is quite firm/rigid and rubbing my leg; will need to find solution. Would recommend boot and Shoe Company to friends.
