Brooks Womens' Revel 8 Running Shoe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] They are so comfortable. I needed something that would not hurt if I wore sneakers for 8 hrs. So I order 2 more to switch them out.

I'm rating these 5 stars because I've never worn a shoe this comfortable in my entire life. It had become impossible for me to find a shoe that didn't cause my feet to be in a lot of pain. No pain at all in these! It feels like walking on clouds. I am so grateful for these. If I had any complaints, it would be that I have to tie them very loosely, because they feel way too tight if I tie them how I would usually tie shoes. And the tongue moves to the side a lot, so I'll try lacing the shoestrings through the little slot on the tongue to see if that helps. But, these complaints are negligible. These are wonderful shoes, and they have really changed my life.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The earlier versions of the revel are my go to sneaker so thought I would try the 8 version. So disappointed as this is nothing like the earlier versions. The heel is hard, too high and cuts into the skin. The lace area is pointy and not wide enough. With very redesign Brooks continues to ruin what was a great sneaker that used to provide perfect stability. Do the designers ever read the reviews. No option but to return this sneaker. It's so disappointing to love a sneaker only to have Brooks destroy is in the process of trying to redesign it. Stop constantly trying to change the sneakers. Design new colors but leave the structure of the sneaker alone.

I had the Revel 6 and loved them, so when they wore out I bought these (Revel 8). I'm disappointed that the update sacrificed lots of function and comfort, apparently to look more modern. They feel at least a half size too big. The narrow lacing area, tiny tongue, and lack of back loop make them very hard to put on. The laces are slick and untie while you're walking. The sole is thicker and less stable. They have a less contoured shape, leaving less arch/midfoot support. They are stiff and the right edge grinds against my ankle. I wish I tested them more before wearing them outside, I would have returned them.

I've owned many pairs of Revel over several iterations. I'm a neutral runner who doesn't like more than an 8 mm drop, and I prefer to have some ground-feel. I excitedly awaited the release of the 8 when I saw they were switching back to the 8 mm drop vs. the 10 mm drop of the Revel 7. Unfortunately, the sole has no energy return and feels stiff and unforgiving. This makes it feel like a cheaply made shoe that is designed as more of a walker than for running. I'm returning these and will find another pair, but I'm probably done with the Revels in the future, which is extremely disappointing because previous versions felt like a great balance between a comfortable ride and not breaking the bank.

The color I chose in this particular style are white, pink and cream, perfect for spring and summer!! On a scale of 1-10, comfort level in my opinion is a 9. However, buyers beware that this particular shoe style runs small! Therefore, I suggest sizing up at least a half size larger. Other than this, I highly suggest purchasing this sneaker as I love Brooks sneakers!! I have 4 pairs of Brooks sneakers due to the fact I like to rotate my sneakers to help preserve each pair longer!! Thanks Brooks for ALWAYS making GREAT sneakers!!!

I bought these approximately three weeks ago. I have a broken foot. It's been broken and repaired three times in the past year. Needless to say I have a lot of foot pain. Finding shoes that fit and that are comfortable is a very real challenge. I have two jobs, one of which is as a server. These shoes have literally saved my life. I'm able to do my job and be on my feet for long periods of time with very minimal pain. And it didn't cost me an outrageous amount! It was a price I could easily afford. It has definately given me back my quality of life by allowing me to be out and about.

This is my third pair of the Revel. My first two pairs were the revel seven and they were perfect. The Revel 8 is made differently. The tongue isn’t right and I have to unfold the edges of it each time I put my foot into the shoe. The tongue also appears thinner because uppermost part of the lace is digging into the top of my foot. This pair is also bothering my toes. It’s not squeezing them. It’s just causing them to ache. I typically walk 5 to 6 miles per day in this pair is causing me a lot of foot pain. I’m really disappointed that the update to the shoe was for the worse.
