Not Waterproof

The one and only reason I did not give a 5 star rating is because these boots (at least the pair I got) are absolutely not waterproof. The first day I wore them I was walking in a field with some standing water never more than 1"high. After one hour my feet felt damp so I took off the boots and sure enough the insoles were damp around the heel and the ball of my foot. Not wet but definitely not dry. They definitely run a size small but that's no big deal. They are comfortable and good looking to boot but not waterproof. I've worn muck boots for years and thought I'd try something different. Perhaps I'll try the Grundens next time.

Poor quality

I bought this pair of deck boots about 8 months ago and just started wearing them in the last 4 months on a daily basis. The rubber has started cracking on both boots already, which given the price I don’t think they should only last 4 months. I own many different types of rubber boots including muck boots, lacrosse boots, older xtra tufs, etc that are much more durable. Seems to me the manufacturing has gone down hill pretty significantly. Hope they can figure this out going forward, but I will be looking for a similar product from a different manufacturer that will hopefully hold up better.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hello and thank you for providing us with your review. We are sorry to hear the boots you ordered are starting to crack. To help prevent further cracks we recommend using a silicon spray/rub, as long as it is petroleum free.

The SMELL they develop is horrible!

When I first purchased the Xtratuf boots I was impressed at how comfortable they were. found myself slipping them on even if I wasn't expecting to be in a wet environment. Even gave a couple pairs as presents to friends/family. UNFORTUNATELY, after only about 60 days, they developed a SMELL so bad i had to leave them outside and eventually they smelled too bad to wear even on the boat with fish blood and other foul smelling things...THESE BOOTS SMELLED SO BAD YOU COULD SMELL THEM LITERALLY BLOCKS AWAY! Can not understand why more people do not mention this issue

No, I do not recommend this product.

Cool boots

So far so good Fits perfectly with extra odor eaters insole for padding Wife’s opinion was there funny looking I’m happy with them I think they look great One of my coworkers stopped me and said what kinda boots are those there cool He wanted to get some too since it’s been raining here for 2 weeks and everything is wet These are super comfortable you could wear them all day but I just use them to walk to work From my car which is about a 10 to 15 minute walk in the rain lol so these work great for that And I remove them once I’m inside the building

Yes, I recommend this product.

comfortable boots that don't hold up.

I bought these boots for my freshman son in high school as he needed boots for his outdoor education and walking to the different areas of the campus that his classes are. He generally only wears these boots during school hours and occasionally mowing the lawn if it is wet. They began cracking at the toe box within a couple months of him wearing them and now have huge cracks and splits in them. He absolutely loves how comfortable they are but we won't be replacing them with the same brand after seeing the poor quality.

Very Comfortable but Not rugged

I bought these boots little over a year ago I love them for comfort and casual wear but they definitely didn’t hold up to the name my boots are just over a year old and have 2 big cracks in them and the sole is starting to fall out. Great comfy boot overall but not worth it if you plan to fish/hike or go outdoors and really use the boot as a boot and not a sneaker. Not sure if the quality has changed in the last year but not what I expected. 1 starts as they are comfy but just don’t hold up and quality’s not there.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Thank you for leaving feedback regarding the XTRATUF Ankle Deck Boot. We take quality seriously and would very much appreciate the opportunity to either speak or email with you about the product. Could we have a member of our product team reach out to you? If so, please reach out to us via email at XTRATUFUS@rockybrands.com with the email or phone number you would prefer we contact you at. If you have any photos of the product could you please email those over, as well as specifics such as where and how the product failed? A photo of the size label inside the boot is also very helpful as it provides a code we can use to track back where the production failure may have occurred. We look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.

Great boots

Great boots, I know they are for fishing but they are perfect for cleaning up after Hurricane Ian, feet are protected and stay dry….one of the biggest pluses is that they don’t have a deep tread on the bottom so it does not get filled with sand and muck…..I know 5 people who have lived in these during clean up which is still far from done. There is one lady amongst us with cracking and signs of wear but she feels as though she has gotten her moneys worth with 3 months of absolute 10 hour a day daily wear.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Tough Call

This is hard for me to rate. Bought these almost exactly two years ago. Loved the fit and function. Within the last month or so, though, the rubber seems to have dried out and gotten brittle (as others have noted elsewhere). Cracks have formed in multiple spots across both toe creases. Even a short walk through wet grass results in wet feet. They were five star for me while they lasted but two seasons of relatively light use feels awfully short. Time to see what's out there I suppose.
