SUEDE? DSW do better with not allowing exchanges

I ordered these shoes a half size up. I usually wear a 9 but in the winter I wear loafers sneaker or boots with socks so I buy them a little bigger for comfort. I did store pick up so if they don't fit I can return them immediately and exchange with making a trip in. Well... I first notice that they didn't seem like REAL SUEDE then as I tried them on could barely get my feet in them. They are narrow stiff and hard and look very cheaply made. I decide NOPE but DSW has a policy if you order online you can only return them and not exchange. First boo thumbs down on Lucky Brand saying these are real suede???...and LOUDER BOO to DSW having to use my credit card again to buy another shoe rather than just allowing it to be an exchange and pay the difference.
