Lucky Brand Women's Basel Bootie

I previously owned a pair of these boots bought about three years ago. The leather was scuffed and peeling in some areas understandably since I wore them a lot, so this year I decided to replace them because I really enjoyed my first pair. This pair FELL APART after one day of casual wear. They were worn in moderate weather, no extreme circumstances, and the leather is peeling off in 3 separate large circles. I am beyond disappointed that I will have to be purchasing a second pair of $100+ black booties for winter, and I am not sure that this loyal lucky girl will ever purchase from here again. Decline in quality over the past few years = BAD SIGN

I ordered these boots in "Light Purple" but before I did I called customer service because I was confused about what color they really were. The color name of them says "light purple" but the picture looks like a darker brown. Customer service said they didn't know and they assumed it would be a dark brown. So I ordered them. They arrived today and I held my breath as I took them out of the box, they were PURPLE. I barely even put them on so I could return them and they would still be clean and acceptable. Disappointed with customer service's lack of knowledge with the products. Also disappointed that this picture does not show they are PURPLE boots.

I've been wearing these since last Christmas and I love them - they go with everything, the heels are quiet against the ground (I had returned several pairs of other black ankle booties because I hate loud shoes), and they're relatively comfortable. The only issue I've had is probably because I've worn them 3-4 days a week for 8 months - the leather exterior has started to peel on the sides and some on the toes. Also the sole, which you see as dark brown in the photos, gets scuffed easily and lightens, so the sole is more of a light yellow-brown now. I definitely love these but I wish I didn't have to be delicate with them.

This is literally the best shoe I've ever purchased, and to see it's on sale/clearance has made my year... (And I just got married! ;p) I've had a suede-tan pair of these so long, I can't even remember when I got them-- the better part of a decade, I'd say. When I tell you I haven't had to send them for repair, or replace them, or spend a whole bunch to have them cleaned: I have worn them almost everyday, to any function (Long/off-road walks, impromptu hikes, European cobblestones, rainy puddles galore, etc) and they are STILL going strong. The best investment I've ever made-- let alone 'solely' in the realm of shoes....

I want to be obsessed with these boots because the style is what I wanted. But OMG, I wore the shoes twice...TWICE and the color of the heel is just completely scratching off. For boots that are basically $100 that SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. The actual leather of the shoe is nice, the padding in the shoe is okay and it definitely runs narrow (even though I got the wide). If I had bought these at full price I would have returned them but I got them on sale during Christmas for almost half off (as a present to myself) so I'm not as mad. Honestly, I was expecting a lot better from Lucky Brand. Not sure I'll buy from them again.
