Warm & comfortable but the seam tore within 6wks
4 years ago
I bought these less than a year ago (Momentum 2). I find them very comfortable and warm, but you have to pull them up using the cuff (which is normal) and the seam ripped after 6 weeks of use. I tried to return to Shoe Company as I would have used my membership card when I purchased them but they said I would need my receipt which unfortunately I did not have. You can not put these boots on any other way than pulling the cuff at the back, if it wasn't for the seam just ripping then I would rate these much higher as they are actually great for Northern Winters and waterproof. Even with the ripped seam they still keep my feet warm but they are pretty much done for use now.

Best winter boots ever
So far I have nothing negative!! They hug your foot well; super easy to walk in! And very light weight! I have a Pyrenees mix three year old dog that I walk 3 times a day for 45 minutes a walk! Great on ice!! The best I’ve had!! So far it’s only been a -28 windchill so I can’t vouch for the -40 rating! But at -28 my feet were warm!! I highly recommend them! Oh and pretty easy off and on!! What more can you ask for!! I love them!! Got white and they look great in that “colour
”! The reason for 4 not 5 stars is because I haven’t worn them past -28 windchill. Also I went up a size in case of extra socks which I’ll probably wear when it’s colder

Awful for distance walkers
I bought these because they have a wide toe box and they were relatively comfortable. Initially. I try to walk 10,000 - 15,000 steps a day, and the leather detail on the back of the boot, combined with the absence of a liner, means that I’m doubling up my socks, throwing bandages halfway up my Achilles, and I’m still rubbing my ankles raw. For the casual walker I’m certain these are amazing. If you plan to cover a lot of distance this winter though, do yourself a favour and give these a hard pass.

Leaky
Bought these a year ago and have hated them ever since. Supposed to be waterproof, but mine have leaked like crazy since I bought them. I should have returned, but alas.. did not. Now my feet are always cold as they get wet as soon as I go outside to walk in the snow. Really disappointed.

I hate whole size only shoe brands!!

From now on I'm taking a personal stand against all shoes that don't come in half sizes!!!! Inevitably one size is too small and one one too big! I am a usual size 8 1/2 I got a 9 and it was oddly cramping my toes so I returned and got the ten but they looked so huge to me and they slide up and down on my ankle so I decided I'd rather my toes be cramped then wear boats on my feet ( the laces are flimsy and they aren't something you can adjust to loosen or tighten to make any significant difference) but time I went to get the 9 they were sold out I was so fed up trying to o find snow boots I just kept the boats lol. So yeah just say no to whole size only brands!!

Nice but hard to get it on

I bought this boot after reading a good review of it on an independent site. Was looking for warmth, comfort, good traction in snow and ice. Once you get it on your foot I think it rates well on all of those points. But it was so difficult to get it on my foot. Without a side zipper, you really have to try loosening the laces quite a way down and I couldn't just step down into it, I had to really pull hard to get my foot in. The size was right and it felt comfortable once my foot was inside, but it was too much of a struggle to get it on. Have to say I was disappointed because I wanted to like it and keep it. I have a high instep so perhaps that was the problem.

Comfortable, but Misleading!

These are advertised as Waterproof and rated to -40 degrees, and it couldn't be farther from the truth! They are extremely comfortable, even for a daily walking boot in the winter, but I bought these for their cold rating, as I was taking a trip to Northern MN, where it was -12 degrees. We were hit with 2ft of snow during my trip, and frigid temperatures that bit your ears the second they hit the air. After hiking through snow and slush, my feet were soaked and dangerously freezing. I would buy again for comfort in my mild winter state of OH, but these are neither Waterproof nor rated for cold weather.

Comfortable and warm

Ok, I will be truthful that I haven't worn these outside yet; it's July. But I have tried them on and worn them around the house to make sure they are comfy. They are comfortable. They are very warm. I did go a 1/2 size up, since I know in the winter, I'll wear thick socks. They are easy to slip on and off and once on, they feel comfortable and warm. The lining in the boot is very soft. I like that the sole looks nice and rugged, like it will grip nicely in the snow and make me feel secure. There is nothing about these boots that leads me to believe I won't be happy come snowy weather.
Yes, I recommend this product.
