I've owned five pairs of GHOAST and use them for my annual 800 to 2000 miles of road training and racing. They are a reliable choice that I don’t have to think about while running.
The design has improved, especially for heel strikers like me. The sole durability is better than before; I can reach about 600 miles on a pair while they still look and feel good. My first pair lasted 900 miles before retiring.
I also use four other brands, and as someone with wide feet, I've tried both standard and wide versions. The wide fit offers extra toe space, but the added width around the laces is excessive for me. The standard fit works fine after breaking them.

Very comfortable!
I started with brooks a few years ago with the “anthem” and then the ghost 13. Since the. I’ve tried a few brands with no luck (foot pain) then this shoe came out and was recommended to me by big peach running co. Instant comfort! I recently started running again and I typically run 2-3 miles 5 days a week or so. This shoe fits my foot perfectly in a 10.5 2E. I will definitely get another pair, my only gripe is that they show wear quickly. That seems to be a common trend with premium daily trainers. That being said I’ll still get another pair because they are so comfortable and fit well. I’ve tried hokas and they don’t even compare.

This is still a very comfortable shoe with great support. However, I’m disappointed in the 16. The 15 was a great version all the way around. I wear a wide shoe and the Ghost 15 and the 13 before that were perfect fits. Brooks didn’t quite get it all right with the 16. The fit is tighter with the same size and width and not nearly as comfortable as the previous versions. Also, my pair came with one shoe lace being about 6 inches shorter than the other. I’ve been a Brooks Ghost and Cascadia fan for several years without even trying other brands. Next time I’ll have to try others and Brooks will have to work harder to bring me back.

Incredibly comfortable for walking and running!
This is the most comfortable show for walking and running I have ever owned. I actually went back and bought two more pairs on the chance they discontinued the shoe before I went to buy them again. At first I was concerned at the cushion feel and the fact it threw my balance off ever so slightly. What I learned is that after a couple weeks, the balancing muscles in my feet, ankles and calves have greatly increased in strength and not only is it not a problem any more, I can feel that balancing strength even with bare feet or wearing other shoes. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Please never stop making this shoe Brooks!

One of the Best
I have two pair of these. They are one of the few “traditional” trainers left. Some people may find the high heel/toe drop to be awkward at first, but it suits my running really well. Depending on what you’re used to, the cushioning may feel firm to some. Regardless, I’ve found they offer ample protection. This is a neutral shoe, but also very stable with a fairly wide base. I’ve taken them anywhere from 3 to 12 miles and usually forget they’re on my feet. Also I have a pair of the Ghost 15s and much prefer the feel of the DNA Loft 3 foam of the 16s. As per usual, Brooks quality of construction is the best in the biz. For reference I run 20-25 miles per week.

Inconsistent Sizing
Brooks is the only running shoe I've purchased over the last ten years. I usually purchase the Adrenaline GTS, but occasionally I'll purchase another type for various reasons. I recently purchased the Ghost, size 10.5, which is the my normal size. However, the Ghost is extremely small for a standard 10.5 shoe. My toes are touching the end of the shoe, so I'm concerned about how it will impact my stride. I'll never run in these but will use them instead for around town shoes, assuming they will break-in over time. The shoe seems well built, but I'm very disappointed with the inconsistent sizing between product lines.

Find a Ghost 15, or wait for 17.
Like many reading these reviews I've been using Brooks for a very long time. Theu are my favorite brand, but the Ghost 16's are a step back in fit and quality. They are very soft, which is nice, but my ankle rubs on side of every pair I've tried (I currently own the white/tan version), and the shoe upper has already started to fold and collapse and rubs the top of my feet pretty extensively, making runs uncomfortable.
Along with the upper, the tread itself also seems to be wearing out after very limited use. Super frustrating.
Compared to the new Ghost Max 2 and Glycerin 21, the Ghost 16 is unfortunately not up to par.

Not for me
Can’t find a good place for this shoe. From speed work and long runs to simply casual easy runs I just can’t find a good place for them. Even as someone who’s had their feet “tested” and recommended a wide shoe the toe box in these just feels huge. No matter how much i try to tighten the laces I find my toes foot still seems to have too much room up front causing excessive movement and more blisters. No tot mention after tightening them so much it starts to hurt the top of my foot where the shoe as a whole be comes under sites me to wear. I think the sole cushioning is adequate but the rest just doesn’t work for me.
