Disappointment
I have worn New Balance for years. Through more than a dozen half marathons and years of working out and activities, I have relied on their comfort and fit. This was my first disappointment. This shoe is at least an inch longer than my previous pair of the exact same size. I wear an extra wide and although the toe box sole is wide, the shoe lacks vertical space. In order to minimize slipping, I have to lace it up using every hole, including the ones at my ankle: This uses almost all of the lace and causes more stiffness and discomfort. I have had them for several weeks and refuse to give up since it's too late to send them back.

Amazing Support and Comfot
So I’d like to say I’m in heaven !!! In December I broke my ankle and it’s now March and last Friday I was released from that horrible boot and my Doctor suggested New Balance. The thing is I really didn’t want to get them , I’m not a New Balance person but I saw these Fuel Cell Walker Elite and gave them a try , my ankle was killing me right before the UPS guy dropped them off I put them right on and immediately felt so much relief I haven’t taken them off yet. The support , comfort and all around stability is amazing ! As my ankle continues to heal I feel confident with these walkers and my new brace I’m well on my way to a great recovery, Thank you New Balnce.

Needs some tweaks
Purchased after doing a bunch of research on running vs walking shoes. Since I am primarily a walker, I wanted these to be the ones. After a week of walking 4-5 miles a day, I have doubts. As stated in other reviews the collar of the walking shoe is higher than other new balance fuel cell runners. It rubs on both the inside and outside of the ankle. The tongue is also longer. The shoe runs a little narrow otherwise I’d say it’s true to size. Biggest disappointment is the durability of the outsole. The outsole does not cover the entire walking area on the bottom of the shoe so the cushioning midsole part started showing signs of abrasion wear after just one week.

Absolutely love them

I don’t think I’ve ever had a “proper” walking shoe before this. I work in a big hospital as a cleaner, so I get around 20,000 steps per shift. When I first put these on I was a bit skeptical as I wasn’t used to the support and structure these shoes gave me. After getting used to them, I absolutely love them and I don’t get foot pain/cramps nearly as bad as I did with my other shoes. Usually shoes last me around 6 months or so, but I’m curious to see if these will hold up longer as they have a complete different structure that I haven’t experienced yet.

Perfect Fit
I bought the Fuel cell Walker Elite because I needed a good pair of support walking shoes. I have tried other brands (orthopedic types), but I always seem to come back to New Balance. This is the first time trying the Fuel Cell. The shoes hug my feet well, not too loose and not to tight. The Women's 12 B is perfect. I love them so much that I bought a 2nd pair to have, just in case you stop making them. These are the only shoes that I wear that my feet do not hurt. The only negative is there is only 2 color choices.

Great Walking Sneaker
This is my first purchase of anything in the fuel cell line. I am very happy that i decided to give the line a try. I needed a pair of good walking shoes and these certainly fit the bill. they are comfortable out of the box and did not require a break in period for me. They are very cushioned and comfortable. They do seem to run about a half size larger than my Fresh Foam pairs, at least in my case. I ordered my usual size 11 and I kept that size. I am very happy with my purchase and I would purchase this line again.
Yes, I recommend this product.

good but not great

This is a beautiful shoe. However, the only reason I purchased them was they have replaced the 847 walking shoe, which I have been wearing and walking in for 5 years. It is a comfortable shoe, but it does not live up to the 847. The heel box is lower and does not support as well, and even though the sole is thicker, the shoe is not as sturdy as the 847. My guess is New Balance is trying to compete with HOKA. Please, guys, why would you stop
making the best walking shoe just so it looks like a competitor?

Not as expected
I stand on my feet all day at work and wanted to replace my old work shoes with a new pair. The reviews were glowing so I bought them. They run big and that’s saying a lot since I wear a size 12. These are not really comfortable, at least this pair was not. I’m a new balance girl but I feel the quality is going down. I work in a bakery and these shoes are slippery. I actually went back to my old work shoes. I didn’t return them because I had already worn them.
