Great for someone with Plantar Fasciitis

After suffering from feet issues after doing Avon Walk for a few years, my Orthopedist recommended Birkenstocks line for my Plantar Fasciitis, so I invested in the Mayari and Arizona styles. I wear my Mayari Birks religiously everyday outdoors. My rubber Arizona slippers I wear around my house. Take my advise-after all the doctor’s visits, therapy and sonic shockwave treatments I went through, wearing Birkenstock’s is the to go to shoes because the cork eventually contours around your feet arches and gives you the support you need. Don’t be discouraged with the stiff feel the first week or two... your feet will shape itself into them.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Absolutely love these shoes. I had been wearing very flat sandals for the last two years and my legs were starting to take a toll. I caved and purchased my first pair of Birkenstocks and I couldn't be happier. It took me a few days to get used to the width of these shoes, as my feet are narrower, but I realized the sides were there for extra support. It took maybe a week to "break them in", but they were never uncomfortable. I was nervous that they'd be like flip flops, since there is no back strap, but my feet do not budge or "kick" up the backs at all (which causes more foot pain). I got a size 39 (or 8), and I'm usually an 8.5 or 9.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Footbed cracks

I bought these because I have narrower feet and these fit great. I got my usual birkenstock size. They are comfortable at first and fit very nicely. I wear these almost daily all year round being in a warm state. After a year (even when taking care of the footed and cork) they crack on the side and under the pad of your foot making these unbearable and not repairable. I ordered a replacement thinking it was me not taking care of them but my second pair did the same thing at the same length of time. Don't expect this style to last you. Google this style w the crack it is very common.i won't be buying a third pair at this point, going back to the old style.

Comfortable!

These are comfortable right out of the box. I wore them all day with no issues. I had a difficult time deciding which color to buy but finally decided on stone, as I already have brown and black sandals. They’re a nice neutral, gray-brown color. I have several pairs of the Papillo line, but these are my first pair of Birks. They are just as comfortable as I’ve heard. I had a difficult time determining which size to buy. I typically wear between a 6 and a 6.5. The 36 fit just fine, but I decided to go with a wider, looser fit and longer footbed and went with a 37. I totally could have gone with either size. These really run big.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Comfortable

This is my first pair of Birkenstocks, and I wanted to try them because of the arch support with benefits to plantar fasciitis. I found them rather firm and stiff at first, with the strap around the big toe digging in on occasion. I continued to wear them in my house for a few more days to see how they felt over time. After a couple weeks, I notice they don't feel as firm and the strap around the toe no longer digs in, so I guess they needed a little break-in period. I do like the arch support, and my feet don't hurt as much after wearing them. I am curious about the Birkenstock soft footbed and may try a pair of those next.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I wanted to love them. :-(

I really wanted to love them. I love the style they are super cute!.. However, I am normally a 10 so I bought the one that will fit 10/10.5 and seen them as to big for my feet. Also, I bought them because I seen the reviews that they are comfortable for people with Plantar Faciatis, however they hurt my arch so bad they felt hard as a rock. I used them for a whole day walking around town down the the shore. By the end the day it was to bad I could not keep them. I wanted them for Florida but nope I will not torture myself like that. But again they are super cute, I might try them again with a smaller size but again the have hard soles so I dont know yet.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Don't get the hype

I want to love these shoes, they are comfortable, I don't know if Birkenstock has gone down hill or what, but they are not well made. I have had these shoes for two months, not even wearing them daily, and the sole is noticeably worn down, the shoes are no longer level. I contacted Birkenstock customer service, but since it is wear, not "poor craftmanship", I'm out of luck (but can pay a cobbler another $100 to fix them). Just wish I could have gotten more than 2 months of wear for 100 dollar shoes. I bought this pair to replace gizeh's from last year, same problem, guess I'm a sucker. Never again!

Beyond comfortable

These are my first pair of Birkenstocks ever (and I’m 37) and I couldn’t be more impressed. Hubby & I are going to be traveling the world, hitting up as many tropical locations as we can, so I need sandals with versatility & comfort & these totally fit the bill! I bought them several months before our trip to ensure I could break them in, but they are already amazingly comfortable right out of the box! I’m glad I read the reviews and ordered a size down - I’m normally a size 9 in women’s, but I ordered the 8-8.5 and they fit beautifully with room to spare. The 9-9.5 would have been WAY too big.

Yes, I recommend this product.
