Perfect shoes

I was skeptical at first due to the poor rating, but I decided to order them anyway because there aren't many waterproof running shoes with a wide toe box on the market. I'm glad I did. These shoes are incredible! The foam sole offers excellent grip, even on rocky, muddy trails. I was worried about them being slippery at first, but they weren't at all. I climbed logs, hiked rocky trails in the Pacific Northwest, and these shoes consistently impressed me. I even ran on rocky trails, carrying 35 lbs on my back, uphill and downhill, without any issues. They're incredibly light and comfortable, definitely worth the purchase.

Yes, I recommend this product.

New balance used to be good, now it’s garbage!

These are complete garbage, the old design was far better. The foam in the sole especially the heal area is collapsing so your heal sinks in with every step causing much discomfort and hip pain. The old model was far better but this new foam is not durable at all. Considering I only wear these to walk the dog and haven’t had them for more then 3 months, I am very disappointed and have to throw them away now. I will no longer buy new balance and that was my 5th pair. Also the goretex has failed on every pair at the toe seam within a few months.

Disappointed

Even though all of my other balance shoes have been great, these ones weren’t. Even though I followed the website advice and ordered a larger size because they said they were fabricated smaller, the toe box was still too narrow, resulting in a corn developing on my toe LOL a very painful experience. I also found the sole to be not that thick or supportive compared to the Asics that I walk my dog in. I bought these because they were Gore-Tex and wanted them for water resistance on the morning walks

Disappointed

I’m usually very happy with NB fresh foam series for standing 11+ hours a day. However this model is so thin, I can literally feel the ground as I walk, after just a couple hours my heels are so sore! The insole is like a sheet of paper. They are indeed water proof but they hurt so bad it’s not worth wearing them. I will go back to the 860’s that always do great. This is definitely an entry level shoe at best. Don’t bother purchasing.

Unfortunately poor quality

I was very happy when I found these, at first, because the visual details of the shoe and functional aspects were everything I was looking for. But the reality is that there is quite literally zero support in the footbed. It’s just a flat, very thin piece of foam, with no support in the arch, or anywhere else. I can feel the seams of the (very nice-looking) upper/outer of the shoe pressing in VERY uncomfortably on the arch of my foot. These had so much promise, but at the end of the day I had to spend so much money looking for a good replacement insole, and nothing seemed to work. The best solution I found was to take an old footbed out of a pair of worn-out ASICS and use those, but I still feel discomfort after a few hours or less at work. Please make these better, it’s not the first time I’ve been disappointed with the quality of a NB shoe that I had high expectations for.

Nice Water Resistant Shoes

Strengths: Comfortable, lightweight, good water resistance. Weaknesses: rather generic looking. I bought these shoes because I was tired of getting wet feet walking my dog in the morning over the wet grass, and these were the only Goretex shoes I could find in wide widths. These shoes have solved that problem and are quite comfortable to walk in as well, so overall I'm very satisfied.

Incorrect labeling. Wasted my money....

The shoe is labeled (and sold that way) incorrectly. I ordered a 9 my usual size, (I've got many pairs of NB, Nike, UA, Aspics all in size 9, which fit fine) and my toe hits the end of the shoe. I hate it and think it is lazy/negligent to simply say shoe runs small... just relabel the shoe to conform to all the other shoes you sell! Wasted my time and money on this purchase.

Uncomfortable

I searched for a pair of running shoes that were semi-waterproof for road running (post rain and snow). I run outside all year round in the Chicagoland area. I ordered a size 11 X-Wide. 1. Shoe was very uncomfortable and not supportive at all.. I tested indoors and couldn't tolerate the discomfort. 2. For a Gore Text shoe, there was zero sole traction
