Moab 3 Waterproof Wide Width

Bought these to break in for a trip to the Yorkshire Dales in the fall. Feel great and hope they serve me well!

Outstanding Design and Quality

Received these, from Merrell, about one month ago. Never tried this brand before, and I'm happy I did. Went with my usual size of 9 1/2 W, which fit perfectly & was absolutely comfortable right out of the box, with no break-in period needed. I have a high instep & the padded tongue worked well; the heels weren't tight or loose; laces stayed tied, and the balls of the feet were protected from the impact on concrete and gravel. If you're not used to hikers they may feel clunky at first, but you'll adjust quickly. I went with the waterproof version just because it may be needed at some point. Lastly, they are nice looking.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Bad design for a "wide" shoe

I had to return these shoes because they were too narrow. That is right, I ordered wide shoes and they were too narrow. My feet have not changed since the last time I ordered these shoes in regular or wide, but the shoe design has. In addition to not being wide enough, the toe has a taper to it. I like to wear thick socks when I go on a long hike, and the wide shoe has accommodated that in the past, but not any more. Even with regular hiking socks that are not too thick, this shoe is narrow at the toes. I am sorry Merrell had to change a good thing because the Moabs have been my go-to hiking shoes for several years now.

Moab 3 Grey

This is my second pair. The other pair served as my winter walking shoes, my off-road shoes and hiking shoes. My foot is really a WW, but these are wide enough, but not with the thicker and padded hiking socks. I also use my Moabs for driving. I'm a grandmother with grandchildren in 5 different states, mostly in the Pacific Northwest area. During my travels, I could be walking on gravel, sandy ground, or concrete or asphalt. They handle the different terrains very well, keeping my feet warm, comfy and dry. I gave them 4 stars only because I could use an extra smidgen of wideness.

Happy feet!

I have major feet problems …. My feet do not like shoes and socks. I have yet to find a pair that I don’t want to rip off my feet halfway through my day. My sister and I were talking and she asked me why didn’t I invest in some a pair of Merrell’s, apparently she, as well as both, my late Mother and late brother wore no other brand of shoe for work. I was impressed. I read the reviews and decided that if all these people (plus my own family ) swore by this brand I would be a fool not to give them a try. My feet are so happy I did. They still get hot and feel confined , but not even 25% as bad they use to be. I also notice that my feet super appreciate the firm support the shoes offer. Very pleased and will remain a long time customer!

Yes, I recommend this product.

The perfect hiking shoe

The Moab 3 Waterproof wide width is a perfect fit for me. After trying on every brand available in all price ranges this was the most comfortable fit. After a decent trial period I can now say it is a great shoe. It slips on easily (unlike every other shoe I have owned) and is comfortable even after miles of walking on uneven ground and has a good non-slip grip on the rocks. I bought these after I had the same experience with the mid-height and I'll be ordering a back up pair of both. Please don't discontinue these.

Best mountain trail boot yet

These not only fit, they grip and don't slip. Whats more they are comfortable for miles- unheard of. I hike mountain trails.. so gravely sometimes, but always rocky that makes hopping one step at a time never an even gate. If you're keeping a pace, you're always avoiding the next rock & getting ready for a few steps ahead. These are the best boots I've had so far. ..had a similar pair in 2010 that were better than the rest also, but have outgrown them- so I'm back in the right ones again thanks to Merrell.

Very comfortable, but run small!

Be aware that these run a half size too small. I scoured over the reviews and saw almost everyone said they ran true to size. They absolutely do not. I am a solid 9.5 in every shoe I own from chucks to stilettos. I had to order a half size larger. Keep in mind that if you live at an FPO/APO they will not exchange shoes for you and you’ll have to send them back via USPS on your own dime. I was told they may reimburse shipping, but that it’s on a case by case basis. I ended up just selling them to someone locally because I’m not taking that risk. She wears a 9 and the 9.5s fit her perfectly. Anywho, the shoes are very comfortable if you get the right size. Like, super comfortable right out of the box. I’m going to hike Mt. Fuji in them and I think they’ll work great. They have fantastic grip.
