Do not buy this shoe!

This is the absolute worst shoe I have ever worn for walking because I literally can’t run in them. I purchased them at a local running shoe store. I was fitted in them. I brought up some concerns that were waived off. The shoe is too big on my foot. I have worn every Ghost since the 13’s and these are just awful. They feel too hard, too big and my heel slips out of the shoe no matter how tight I tie them. My foot is sliding around in the shoe. I’ve never had this happen to me before. I can’t return the shoes because I had them too long. It really makes me sad because my legs and knees really hurt after trying to make this shoe work for me.

Sloppy and Not at all Comfortable

I echo many of the other comments on how disappointing this shoe is. I wear a narrow and there is such a limited amount of choices in shoes for me. The 15 and even the 16 were good for my narrow foot, but the 17 is horrible, I can barely wear them for more than 7 hours (work in an ED and on my feet all day). The others were great, but my heel slips and the toe box on the narrow is wide. Even my legs hurt after trying to wear these. I use to wear Adrenaline, but that has also changed. There are already so few choices for those who wear narrow shoes. I originally bought 2 pair of these as narrow go fast, but ended up sending the second pair back.

Skip the 17's

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been wearing Ghosts for at least 10 years. I had been holding off on getting the 17's because of the reviews. But when they came on sale just as one of my 15's developed a hole I decided to go for it. But sadly the reviews provided true this time. These are providing me my typical Ghost fit or comfort. The back of the shoes rub unfortunately and are too high and stiff. I sized up a half size like usual. I've tried wearing for shorter periods to try and break them in but no luck. I've always been able to wear my Ghosts for 10 and 12 hour shifts right out of the box, but sadly not with these. Hopefully the 18's have a better fit.

Wide was the way to go for comfort but the color choices are dismal.

As I’ve aged my feet have widened and this is my first pair of Ghost in wide. The fit is great and it is a comfortable shoe that can wear on a 12 hour shift running around a veterinary hospital. I easily do my 10000 steps a day. My only complaint is that it only comes in neutral colors. In vet med white or very light color is a bad idea. Plus in the PNW well it’s wet and who just wants splatter mud, blacktop showing on their shoes. Black is just way too hot when it’s sunny out and your feet start sweating. I would love an amazing purple in wide. I still wear my old Ghost that were a purple with leopard print sole while doing chores.

Staaaahhhp with the redesigns! Bring back the 14’s! These are terrible!

Not the experience you’re used to from the ghost, or brooks for that matter. It’s unfortunate they chose to redesign and screw up something that has been a staple in my closet for years. Heel doesn’t fit - too short and what’s with the flare? too wide, very heavy and stiff. Literally wouldn’t stay on my heels and made me unsteady on my feet and caused pain in my legs and back. The very opposite of what I started wearing these for! Stinks because they have some half decent colors for once but the trade off was a no-go for me! Sent them back. Bought the trace instead. They will replace the ghost for now until they bring back maybe the 14’s or 15’s.

Comfortable other than the tongue

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shoe is very comfortable and I love the soul: lightweight and it feels supportive. I gave this shoe 4 stars because the tongue of the shoe is uncomfortable and “scratchy” against my skin. I have it tied in a weird looking way to hold the tongue back plus I make sure my jogger style pants fall in-between the tongue and my skin. I had just purchased new socks that I like, so I wasn’t about to spend more money on more socks in a style that I didn’t want after having spent the money on a new pair of shoes.

Slightly different but still supportive and comfortable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been wearing Ghosts for several years now - my first pair was the Ghost 5. The 17s are a little different than previous versions, but they're still supportive and comfortable. I first got Brooks for my running shoes, but after 2 knee surgeries in 6 years, I had to quit running. I'm a nurse and my Brooks are now my work shoes. I'm on my feet a lot and the 17s have been able to keep up. I'm actually considering getting a 2nd pair for my non-work shoes! I usually wear a size 7-7.5 and I always buy my Brooks in a size 8. Even though I'm not running anymore and don't necessarily need to size up to compensate, I still like the size 8.

Brooks Running Shoes Review – Great for Non-Runners Too

I'm not a runner, but I picked up these Brooks shoes because I liked how they looked. I've always worn ASICS, so I was a bit nervous about switching brands. When I first tried them on, the soles felt different—almost like there were bubbles inside, probably designed to absorb impact while running. It took a couple of days to get used to that sensation, but now I don’t notice it at all, which is a big plus for me. I mainly use these for gym workouts, and they’ve been really comfortable. No issues with support or fit, and they’ve held up well. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend them, even if you're not a runner like me.
