I really have a tough time finding good wide sneakers - I'm something like a 8W or 8WW - but SO many brands these days either don't offer wide for womens shoes - or "wide" simply isn't wide. Even brands that offer "foot shape" have gotten narrower - thank goodness for Merrell! These fit right out of the box - took my dog for a walk - zero pain (which I get with most new shoes) - love these!!

Bad quality

They were comfortable during my hikes 28kms in 2 days. But at the end of those two days, the side of the shoes (not a spot whwr my foot rubs) started to frey. Maybe it was a bad batch of shoes.
The shoe company was really good about it and gave me a refund.

I bought this hiker for my trip to Colorado. I was looking for a shoe that would be great on the trails and comfortable on the sidewalk to find coffee and donuts after said trails. This hiker delivered. Very happy with this purchase.

Fit problem

I purchased my first pair after wanting a pair for a long time! However, I am struggling with the fit of the right shoe. The insole is not flexible and doesn’t fit the foot properly. I am 64 and although I need specialty shoes due to my wide feet have never had this issue.
Can you recommend different insoles that I can purchase?

Hard soles

The shoes are roomy but the sole is extremely hard, so it's painful for my knees to wear them. I had to buy gel insoles to make them bearable. They're still not actually comfortable but I'm hoping they will soften up with time. They also have a heel that is slightly too elevated for me.

Effective and antislip

Great for walks with uneven terrain and in rain/snow. Will not replace snow boot but allows for comfortable walking on paved roads in bad weather. No slipping. Great for travel. Can handle wet flagstones, slippery marble steps and wet cobblestones well. Comfortable for moderate hiking.
